Frozen Trees of Arctic Circle

Frozen Trees of Arctic Circle

In the frozen world of Arctic Circle, photographer Niccolo Bonfadini captured these stunning shots of frozen trees. In the dramatic sub-zero temperatures, the snow and frost become so thick it disguises the entire landscape.

Simon Beck's Snow Art

We are glad to Introduce you the works of Simon Beck, which since 2004 formed various figures walking on the snow.

Most pictures are from the French Alps, where Simon has spent a lot of time in the winter days, but not skiing. At first glance it seems that what he does is easy – just go in the snow, creating huge figures with their snowshoes. But he is not walking around aimlessly, and pre- made templates, which are then modeled on the snow. The end result is usually a size of three football fields, even more. Making the drawings it takes 6 hours to 2 days, depending on their complexity.
His works are stopped until cubes snowflakes and abstract shapes. Some of them create stunning 3D effect when viewed from above. His art, however, depends on the weather conditions – They had to re-shape some of the figures, covered by snow next…

A giant artwork created by British artist Simon Beck on a frozen lake using only his feet in Les Arcs, France

Mr Beck, an orienteer leader, has created hundreds of the artworks after ploughing his first at Christmas in 2004.
He uses what he describes as a ‘kind of reverse orienteering’ to plot his intricate paths before walking along the route in a pair of snowshoes.
He said: ‘The main reason for making them was because I can no longer run properly due to problems with my feet, so plodding about on level snow is the least painful way of getting exercise.
‘Gradually, the reason has become photographing them, and I am considering buying a better camera.’

Some pictures are photoshopped to increase the contrast.

The Sushi Cats From Japan

The “Neko-Sushi“, literally “Sushi Cat” in Japanese, is a new delirium of japanese company Tange & Nakimushi Peanuts, which offers a series of posters or postcards of cats dressed as sushi. Destined to become both new icons of kawaii and WTF, the “Neko-Sushi“, or cats resting on rice balls with accessories.
Super cute!
